From its creation, Massard et Cie, has above all been a story of people.

The company has been built on an array of skills and enriching experiences. Our business is all about precision, so a fine touch is essential.

Our team currently has about twenty men and women with cutting edge skills in the fields of bar turning, rolling, etc. Our operators are trained in new technologies on a regular basis.

You benefit from a complete service, from project management and quality control of the various operations, until the finishing of your parts: heat treatments, surface coating, etc…

History

1825

Creation

It was back in 1825 that Alexandre Massard founded the company in Monistrol, Haute-Loire. He cut steel sheets by pressure to manufacture locks.

Vers 1900

Transmission

Mathieu Massard took over from Alexandre Massard, and turned the company’s orientation to ornamental ironwork.

1914

La Great War

Mathieu Massard worked for the military industry and produced shells 75.

1945

Massard et Cie

After the war, Jean Massard and Paul Bonche, Mathieu Massard’s son-in-law, transformed the small company, which became Massard et Cie.

1955

“Prisoner” studs

Starting in 1955, production developed with the so-called “prisoner” studs, which are used in the construction of machine tools, automobiles, tractors, valves and pipe couplings.

1979

Suzanne Bonche

In 1979, Suzanne Bonche takes over the management of the company which was transformed in the following years from a Sarl into an SA, then a SAS.

1990

Bespoke parts

In the 1990s, the company expanded its range of services and offered machining for bar turned parts from plans (2 to 60 mm in diameter). The new machines allow for mass production.

2003

Xavier Bonche

In 2003, Xavier Bonche became President of the company. In 2016, he has a new 1,800-m2 workshop built, effectively doubling the production surface, and ensuring the sustainability of the family story which has been going on for nearly 200 years.
