Since its creation, Massard et Cie has been above all a story of men.

The company is built on a wealth of know-how and experience. We perform a precision craft where finesse is a must.

The current team is made up of around twenty men and women with cutting-edge skills in bar turning, rolling, etc. Our operators are regularly trained in new technologies.

You benefit from a complete service, from project management and quality control of the various operations, to the finishing of your parts: heat treatments, surface coatings, etc…

The story

1825

Creation

Alexandre Massard founded the company in Monistrol, Haute-Loire, in 1825. He press-cuts sheet metal to make locks.

Around 1900

Transmission

Mathieu Massard succeeds Alexandre Massard, and turns the company towards wrought ironwork.

1914

The Great War

Mathieu Massard works for the military industry, producing 75 mm shells.

1945

Massard et Cie

After the war, Jean Massard and Paul Bonche, Mathieu Massard’s son-in-law, transformed the small company into Massard et Cie.

1955

Prisoner studs

From 1955 onwards, production expanded to include “prisoner” studs, used in machine tools, automobiles, tractors, valves and pipe fittings.

1979

Suzanne Bonche

In 1979, Suzanne Bonche took over the management of the company, which was transformed in the following years from a limited liability company into a limited liability company, and then into a simplified joint stock company.

1990

Parts on plan

In the 90s, the company expanded its range of services to include machining of turned parts to drawings (diameter 2 to 60 mm). New machines make it possible to produce large runs.

2003

Xavier Bonche

In 2003, Xavier Bonche became Chairman of the company. In 2016, he had a new 1,800 m2 workshop built, doubling the production area and ensuring the continuity of a family history that has endured for almost 200 years.
