Massard & Cie
It was back in 1825 that Alexandre Massard founded the company in Monistrol, Haute-Loire. He cut steel sheets by pressure to manufacture locks.
Mathieu Massard took over from Alexandre Massard, and turned the company’s orientation to ornamental ironwork.
La Great War
Mathieu Massard worked for the military industry and produced shells 75.
Massard et Cie
After the war, Jean Massard and Paul Bonche, Mathieu Massard’s son-in-law, transformed the small company, which became Massard et Cie.
Starting in 1955, production developed with the so-called “prisoner” studs, which are used in the construction of machine tools, automobiles, tractors, valves and pipe couplings.
In 1979, Suzanne Bonche takes over the management of the company which was transformed in the following years from a Sarl into an SA, then a SAS.
In the 1990s, the company expanded its range of services and offered machining for bar turned parts from plans (2 to 60 mm in diameter). The new machines allow for mass production.
In 2003, Xavier Bonche became President of the company. In 2016, he has a new 1,800-m2 workshop built, effectively doubling the production surface, and ensuring the sustainability of the family story which has been going on for nearly 200 years.
